Serpent Trail event summary
The Serpent Trail is a trail running event in the South Downs National Park that uses Petersfield Rugby Club, Hampshire GU31 4EP as its event venue. The route runs through lowland heath, ancient woodland, coppices, greensand hills and villages in the South East.
Distances offered:
- 100 km - 1785 m total ascent, 9 checkpoints, 18 hour time limit
- 75 km - 1200 m total ascent, 7 checkpoints, walkers welcome
- 50 km - 700 m total ascent, 5 checkpoints, starts near Petworth, finishes Petersfield
- 20 km - 2 checkpoints, route through woodland and open heath
- 10 km - 10 km route, water station, walkers welcome
All race entries include coach transport to the race start. The course uses permanent Serpent Trail waymarking plus additional race signage. Camping is available on Friday and Saturday nights and a kids race takes place on Friday evening. The venue provides food and a licensed bar. Minimum age to enter is 16 or older.
