Serpent Trail : Petersfield, Hampshire

The Serpent Trail is a long-distance trail running event on 4 July 2026 held at Petersfield Rugby Club, Hampshire. The route runs through parts of the South Downs National Park and lowland heath, ancient woodlands, coppices, greensand hills and rural villages in the South East of England.

Event entries offer multiple distances and include coach transport to the race starts. The route uses permanent Serpent Trail markings plus race signage. Camping is available on Friday and Saturday nights and a children’s race takes place on Friday evening. Food and a licensed bar are provided at the venue. Walkers are welcome on several distances.

  • 100 km - 1785 m total ascent, 9 checkpoints, 18 hour time limit
  • 75 km - 1200 m total ascent, 7 checkpoints, walkers welcome
  • 50 km - 700 m total ascent, 5 checkpoints, sandy trails and short road sections
  • 20 km - 2 checkpoints, woodland, heath and river sections
  • 10 km - mixed country roads and sandy heath paths, water station
