Serpent Trail - Petersfield, 4 July 2026

The Serpent Trail is a long-distance trail running event based at Petersfield Rugby Club in Hampshire. The route lies within the South Downs National Park and passes through lowland heath, ancient woodlands, coppices, greensand hills and villages in the South East of England.

Entries are open from 10 October 2025 to 27 June 2026 with some distances closing earlier on 6 June 2026. The minimum entry age is 16. Coach transport to race starts is included with entries. Permanent Serpent Trail waymarking is used alongside race signage. Camping is available on Friday and Saturday nights and a children’s race takes place on Friday evening. Food and a licensed bar operate at the event venue. Walkers are welcome on several distances. An instalment payment option is available for the longer distances; entry fees vary by distance.

Distances on offer:

  • 100 km - 1785 m ascent, 9 checkpoints, 18 hour limit, firm sandy trails
  • 75 km - 1200 m ascent, 7 checkpoints, route through heath and woodland
  • 50 km - 700 m ascent, 5 checkpoints, two start times, sandy trails
  • 20 km - 2 checkpoints, woodland and heath, flat route, walkers welcome
  • 10 km - flat 10 km route, water station, mix of roads and trails

Trail runs through Angmering Park Estate in Patching on 26 April 2026, with 10-mile and 10 km courses amid bluebells. Canicross entries are available for a small supplement and the finish is at The Worlds End Pub.
