Event Overview

The Summer Sun Run is a timed running event held at Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking, Surrey. Runners choose their own distance by completing laps of a 5.3 km (3.28 mile) looped course around the estate grounds.

Course and Format

The course is an undulating and hilly off-road trail. Participants have a 7-hour overall time limit to complete as many laps as they wish, starting with a minimum distance of one lap (5.3 km / 3.28 miles). Distances can range from 5 km up to ultra marathon distances. The event features flexible start times within a one-hour window.

What's Included

All finishers receive a large, bespoke medal. A lower-cost entry option is available that provides the run and full event support without a physical medal. Event support includes an aid station, same-day published results, digital race bibs, and digital finishers certificates.

Practical Information

The event takes place on Saturday, 4 July 2026. Entry fees are £37.95 for affiliated runners and £39.95 for unaffiliated runners. The lower-cost 'no medal' entry option is a flat £20. Trail runs nearby

Trail races of Half Marathon, 10K and 5K run from Marlow Rugby Union Football Club on 28 June 2026, using marked off road routes through the Thames Valley countryside with marshals, chip timing and race photos.

A Half Marathon at Box Hill Fort (Tadworth) on 28 June 2026 with more than 3000 feet of ascent and descent. The route runs mainly on rough tracks and offers views over the North Downs, the Mole Gap, Denbies Vineyard and Dorking.

Pretty Muddy 5k at Blackheath Common on 28 June 2026. A grassy obstacle course with staggered wave starts, marshals on the route, toilets and refreshments available, and a minimum fundraising target of £50.

A guided 10 km trail run around the Devil's Punchbowl in Hindhead, Surrey. Hilly evening and night runs in a group setting with parking available and a kit list provided; cost £22 per person.
