Grills Trail Run

Misquamicut, United States • 25 Oct 2025

Event overview

The Grills Trail Run is organized by the Westerly Track & Athletic Club as Race 3 of the WTAC Fall Race Series. It is held at Grills Preserve in Westerly, RI, and includes the following distances:

  • 10 Mile
  • 10K

Both courses start and finish at Grills Preserve. The 10-Mile course also passes through the Grills Wildlife Sanctuary in Hopkinton and includes trails, bridges, and riverfront.

Course, rules and entry

Courses are approximately 80% single-track and 20% double-track, with a course split at one mile and a mass simultaneous start for both distances. The 10-mile course has a 2 hour 30 minute cutoff (15 minute/mile pace); participants who have not reached the half-way water stop by the course deadline are asked to turn around and follow the dirt road back one mile to the start. Walkers are welcome but are asked to select the 10K in consideration of volunteer time. All participants and volunteers must wear at least 200 square inches of orange per State of RI DEM mandate. The event uses club timing rather than professional chip timing and will not provide race shirts. Entry fees vary by registration period: early, regular, and race-day tiers; WTAC members and Mohegan Striders receive small discounts. Awards are given to overall male and female finishers and to the top male and female in each age group. Post-race food and refreshments, including a pizza truck, are provided. Strollers and dogs are prohibited on course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
