The Grills Trail Run takes place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Grills Preserve, 198 Bowling Lane, Westerly, Rhode Island. It is the third race in the Westerly Track & Athletic Club (WTAC) Fall Trail Race Series. The event offers two distance options:
- 10 Mile
- 10K
Both courses start and finish at Grills Preserve. The 10-Mile course also runs through the Grills Wildlife Sanctuary in Hopkinton and includes trails, bridges, and riverfront sections. The courses split at the one-mile mark.
Course, rules, entry and awards
The course surface is approximately 80% single-track and 20% double-track. The race uses a mass simultaneous start for both distances and a non-chip timing system managed by the club. A race cut-off for the 10-Mile course is 2 hours 30 minutes (15 minute per mile pace); support and official finishing times are not guaranteed beyond that. Walkers are welcome but are asked to select the 10K course in consideration of volunteers. Strollers and dogs are prohibited on the course.
All participants and volunteers must wear at least 200 square inches of orange, per State of RI DEM mandate. Entry fees vary by registration date with early, regular, and race-day pricing; discounts apply to WTAC members and Mohegan Striders. Awards are given to overall male and female finishers and top finishers in listed age groups. Food and refreshments are provided for participants after the race.
