Course and support
The course lies within over 3,000 acres of Greenland Open Space and uses sections of the Colorado Front Range Trail and the Old Territorial Road. The route runs on dirt trails through native grasslands, ponds, rolling Gamble oak hills and ponderosa pine forest, with views of Pikes Peak and nearby buttes. The full 50K uses a loop that the 50K completes four times and the 25K completes twice; the 8 Mile and 4 Mile follow shorter segments and finish at the shelter area. Aid stations are placed at about mile 3.5 and 7.5 of each loop (no aid stations on the 4 Mile). Aid stations provide water and Gatorade; gels and salty foods are available for 25K and 50K runners starting on the second lap. A portable restroom is located at the southern edge of the course near the 3.5 mile aid station.
Logistics and rules
Pre-race packet pickup is held the day before at Runners Roost in Lone Tree; race day packet pickup is available at the race site. Pacers are allowed only on the final lap of the 50K. Crew access is limited to designated aid station locations and a drop bag area is provided near the north aid station. Awards are presented to overall male and female winners and the top three in each age group. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
