Course and support
The course is entirely on dirt trails within over 3,000 acres of Greenland Open Space and uses sections of the Colorado Front Range Trail and the Old Territorial Road. The route passes native grasslands, ponds, Gamble oak hills, and ponderosa pine, with views of Pikes Peak and nearby buttes. The saddle at the high point reaches about 7,400 feet at the five-mile mark of the loop. The 50K completes the loop four times and the 25K completes it twice; the 8 Mile and 4 Mile follow shorter turn points to the same finish area. Aid stations are located at about miles 3.5 and 7.5 of each loop and supply water and Gatorade; gels are available for 25K and 50K runners starting on the second lap. A portable restroom is placed near the southern aid station.
Logistics and rules
Pre-race packet pickup is available the day before at a local running store; race day packet pickup is available at the race site. Pacers are allowed only on the final lap of the 50K. Crewing is permitted only at designated aid stations and a drop bag area is provided near the north aid station. Awards are given to overall male and female winners and top three finishers in each age group. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
