Course and logistics

All races are run on dirt trails within over 3,000 acres of Greenland Open Space. The course follows part of the Colorado Front Range Trail and the Old Territorial Road, passing native grasslands, ponds, rolling Gamble oak hills and ponderosa pine forests with views of Pikes Peak and nearby buttes. The four mile course is approximately 4.25 miles. The 50K is four laps of a loop, and the 25K is two laps; the 8 mile and 4 mile distances finish after their single routes. The saddle high point on the loop is at about 7,400 feet.

Aid stations are located at roughly miles 3.5 and 7.5 of each loop and offer water, Gatorade, gels for 25K and 50K starting on the second lap, and salty food items. Pacers are allowed on the final lap of the 50K only. Crews may access designated aid station locations; a drop bag area is about 1/4 mile from the finish.
