Greenland Trail Races - Larkspur, Colorado
The Greenland Trail Races take place on May 2, 2026, at Greenland Open Space, 1532 E Noe Rd, Larkspur, CO 80118. The event includes multiple trail distances and a virtual option. The 2026 event is the RRCA National 50K Championship.
Distances offered:
- 50K trail race
- 25K trail race
- 8 Mile trail race
- 4 Mile trail race
The courses lie within over 3,000 acres of Greenland Open Space and include sections of the Colorado Front Range Trail and the Old Territorial Road. Terrain passes through native grasslands, ponds, rolling Gamble oak hills and ponderosa pine forest, with views of Pikes Peak and surrounding buttes. All distances are run on dirt trails; many sections are wide, smooth double track. The course high point is about 7,400 feet at the saddle. The 50K completes the main loop four times and the 25K completes it twice. The 8 Mile and 4 Mile routes run to the finish without repeating the loop.
Aid stations are located near mile 3.5 and 7.5 of each loop; there are no aid stations on the 4 Mile course. Aid stations provide Gatorade and water; gels are available for 25K and 50K runners starting on the second lap, and salty food items are offered. A portable restroom is placed at the southern edge of the course near the 3.5 mile aid station. Runners are encouraged to carry refillable bottles.
Packet pickup is available before race day at Runners Roost locations in Colorado Springs and Lone Tree; race day packet pickup is offered at the race site. The 50K requires participants to be 18 or older; younger runners receive reduced pricing on other distances. Registration includes a technical race shirt, finisher medal, 50K belt buckle for finishers, chip timing, and free event photos. Pacers are allowed only on the final lap of the 50K. Crew access is limited to designated aid station locations and a drop bag area about 1/4 mile from the finish. Awards are presented to overall male and female winners and the top three in each age group. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
