Gobble on the Green 5K

Gobble on the Green is a Thanksgiving Day community running event held on November 26, 2026 at The Village Green Commons, 160 Frank Allen Rd, Cashiers, NC 28717. The event program includes a 5K Run/Walk and a Junior Warrior Course.

Registration opens August 1 and closes on November 26. The registration fee for the 5K is $35.00; the Junior Warrior Course has no fee. T-shirts will be ordered once; only participants registered by November 6 are guaranteed a t-shirt and additional shirts will not be available on race day.

Pre-race check-in is available on Wednesday, November 25 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at The Village Green Lewis Hall (160 Frank Allen Road). Race day check-in will be available inside Lewis Hall from 7:30am to 8:45am. Participants will receive bibs and t-shirts during check-in.

The course will have signage and volunteers for direction and includes sections of gravel, grass, dirt, and paved surfaces. Parents with strollers are asked to start at the back of the field. Dogs may not participate; spectators may bring leashed dogs that remain under control.

Parking is available at The Village Play, the Jackson County Recreation Center, The Albert Carlton Cashiers Community Library, the Post Office parking lot (excluding the row closest to the building), and the grass lot behind the United Community Bank; each is about a five minute walk to the start.

Awards include pies and medals for the top two overall male and female finishers, age-group awards for the top two male and female finishers in seven age groups, and four door prizes awarded by random bib drawing. Participants must be present to win door prizes and awards. Race times will be posted after the event. The Village Green is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit park that operates and maintains a 13+ acre park open year round. The event is held rain or shine.
