Viewpoint Endurance Challenge
The Viewpoint Endurance Challenge is a timed running event in Whittier, North Carolina, offering multiple time-based formats on a short looped course. The event features a contained loop that repeats for the duration of each timed format.
- 24-hour timed event
- 12-hour timed event
- 6-hour timed event
- 3-hour timed event
The official loop is 1.4 miles total, composed of a 1.0 mile hard-packed gravel loop connected to a 0.4 mile asphalt loop. Each loop records approximately 118 feet of elevation gain and 100 feet of elevation loss. Runners pass the main conference center on every lap, which provides bathrooms and showers, and the main aid station and portable toilets are on the circuit.
Lap tracking is provided with a chip or tag system, and there is an option for participants to self-record laps on a large whiteboard. The timed format records distance completed within the event time so participants are credited with miles achieved during the allotted period. Canopy tents may be set up in permitted areas for self-support and crew access.
On-site lodging options at the venue include hotel rooms, bunk houses, an RV park, and tent camping. Registration closes on October 16, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the event and on race morning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
