The Viewpoint Endurance Challenge is a timed running event held October 17-18, 2026 in Whittier, NC (87 Vinewood Circle, 28789). The event offers multiple timed race options:

Course and facilities

The course is a 1.4 mile loop made of a 1.0 mile hard-packed gravel loop connected to a 0.4 mile asphalt loop. Each loop has about 118 ft of elevation gain and 100 ft of elevation loss. Runners pass the main conference center, which has bathrooms and showers, on each loop. A main aid station and portable toilets are located on the loop. Canopy tents may be set up in permitted areas for self-support and crew access. On-site lodging options are available, including hotel rooms, bunk houses, an RV park, and tent camping. Join the 10th annual Color Me Mutt at NASCAR SpeedPark Smoky Mountains for a colorful 5K, 1 mile fun run and pet parade supporting local charities. Dogs welcome for a festive race with treats, medals and park rides.

Enjoy scenic trails beside Fontana Lake and views of the Great Smoky Mountains at the Tsali Ultra, offering 8K, 30K and 50K distances on rolling singletrack. The 50K serves as the NC USATF 50K Trail Championship with prize money.
