The DBC Gifts of Love Community 5K takes place on June 20, 2026, in Flossmoor, IL. The in-person run/walk is held at Vollmer Road Grove Forest Preserve, 4162 Vollmer Rd. The on-site route uses a paved trail of 3.9 miles for a total of 5K; participants may complete multiple laps. A virtual 5K option lets participants choose their own route and distance. Purpose, registration and logistics
The event raises funds to buy book bags, school supplies, and gift cards for homeless school-aged children in the Chicago south suburbs, with a fundraising goal of $25,000 and an objective to purchase 1,000 book bags. Registration opens February 9, 2026, and online registration closes June 8, 2026. On-site registration is available the day of the event. Prices listed are $25 for the in-person 5K and $30 for the virtual 5K; the virtual entry fee increases after March 20, 2026.
