The 45th Annual Gary Brown Memorial C&O Canal Five Mile Run takes place on June 6, 2026 in Williamsport, MD. Course, logistics and awards
The course is a flat, fast out-and-back on the C&O Canal Towpath in Williamsport, with most of the route shaded. Timing is chip-based with instant results provided by Racine Timing. Packet pickup is offered the day before at a local running store and on race morning at Riverbottom Park. Race start, packet pickup and finish are located at Williamsport Park; parking is provided at the Cushwa Basin lot, the Lock House 44 lot, or on-street legal parking on N Commerce St and W Salisbury St.
Registered participants who meet the organizer cutoff will receive a race technical T-shirt; the deadline to guarantee a shirt and size is July 11 (as stated). Awards are given by age group and overall, including top-three overall male and female, top-two masters (40-and-over), and age-group placings. A Distinguished Participant status is available for runners who complete at least five of seven specified 2Lowe Run Co. events during the 2026 season.
