Furnace Run Trail Run

The Furnace Run Trail Run is a trail event held at Furnace Run Park in Shippensburg, PA. It features a primary 5 kilometer one loop course that circles the park and uses mixed surfaces. The course surface varies between grass, dirt, and gravel and includes uneven footing. There is one stream crossing; the stream is seasonal and is usually dry in August.

Timing and results are chip based. Finish times are recorded from the timing chip and awards are determined by gun time, so the first person across the finish line is the overall winner. Participants must wear a timing chip on their shoe and display their bib on their chest to receive a time and be eligible for awards.

Awards include overall places for top finishers by gender, masters awards, and age group awards with two places per listed age group. Entry fees list an early fee for the 5k and a higher fee for registrations on race day. A guaranteed cotton t-shirt is available for those registered by the stated deadline.
