It is an out and back course run on rocky, rooted singletrack that is permanently blazed with light blue paint. The route passes stream crossings, wooded shade, overlooks and a covered pavilion at the High Knob turnaround. The Half Cat uses the High Knob turnaround as its start and finishes at the Manor area.

Distances:

  • 50K

There are three staffed aid stations giving six aid opportunities on course plus the start/finish area. Typical aid station supplies include water, sports drink, snacks and basic fueling items; pharmaceutical needs are the responsibility of the runner. All runners must carry at least one 20 oz water bottle; additional hydration is recommended and runners must present their hydration equipment at bib pickup.

Field limits are set for each distance. Crews are allowed only at the Manor, Hamburg Road and High Knob aid stations; crews at other locations result in disqualification. There are no drop bags, no course marking ribbons, no trail sweeps and no credit for extra mileage from off course navigation. Restroom facilities are available at Manor and High Knob. The organizer offers refunds on a published schedule and does not permit bib transfers or deferrals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
