Bobcat Trail Run 11 Mile : Thurmont, MD
The Bobcat Trail Run is an out-and-back trail race of 11 miles that starts at the Manor Parking Area in Cunningham State Park, Thurmont, Maryland. The route uses the Catoctin Trail (Blue) and the Cat Rock Trail (Yellow) and turns around at the Cat Rock trailhead on Route 77, with the aid station located at that turnaround point. The aid station is 5.5 miles from the start.
The course includes a steep, rocky section known as "Bob's Hill," gaining about 800 feet over 1.5 miles. Total elevation gain for the course is approximately 2200 feet. Runners reverse direction at the turnaround and return to the original start/finish location.
Time limits are stated as 2.5 hours to reach the aid station and 5 hours to complete the full course, which is equivalent to roughly 27 minute miles for the cutoff to the aid station. There is no race day entry.
Entrants and volunteers receive a technical T-shirt. There are no overall, place, or age group awards. Bib pickup includes a brief pre-race check in and a participant photo. Event photos are typically posted 1–2 days after the race.
