Cacapon 12 Hour Challenge - Berkeley Springs, WV

The event is a 12 hour trail race held at 818 Cacapon Lodge Drive in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. The course is a five-mile single track loop that is scenic and described as moderately to very technical. The trail is well marked and maintained and would be classified (4,4) by the Ultrarunning.com scale. Each loop includes approximately 750 feet of elevation change.

Runners follow the loop in the same direction used the previous two years. The route includes a few road crossings on lightly traveled park roads. Some stream crossings may occur depending on recent rainfall.

Support includes a full aid station at the start and finish offering Tailwind, water, and various food items. A water and sports drink aid station is located about halfway around the loop. A post race meal is scheduled for mid-afternoon.

Awards are hand crafted by a local artisan for the top three men and top three women. Solo runners who complete 10 loops join the Cacapon 50 Mile Club and receive a commemorative pint glass. Finisher awards are provided to everyone who completes at least one loop.

Registration closes on Tuesday, June 23 at 11:59 PM ET. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
