Event Information
The Cacapon 12 Hour Challenge is a 12-hour running event held in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. The course is a scenic five-mile loop on single-track trail. The route is classified as moderately to very technical. It includes approximately 750 feet of elevation change per loop. The course has a few crossings on lightly-traveled park roads, and some stream crossings are possible depending on rainfall. The trail is very well-marked and maintained. The event will be run in the same direction as the last two years.
Aid & Logistics
A full aid station with Tailwind, water, and various food items is located at the start/finish. There is a second aid station with water and sports drink halfway around the loop. A post-race meal is scheduled for mid-afternoon.
Awards
All solo runners who complete 10 loops (50 miles) will become members of the Cacapon 50 Mile Club and receive a commemorative pint glass. Hand-crafted awards from a local artisan are given to the top three men and women. A finisher award is given to everyone who completes at least one loop.
