FXBG Trail 5 Miler

The FXBG Trail 5 Miler is the second race in the FXBG Trail series, located at Motts Run Reservoir in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The event features a single distance of 5 miles on a trail course that follows the reservoir before transitioning into more varied terrain.

The route begins on a smooth and forgiving opening stretch designed to help participants find a steady rhythm. As the race progresses, the layout incorporates three distinct climbs. These ascents include a steady and sustained section, a short and punchy climb, and a final uphill segment. The course reaches a total elevation gain of 341 feet.

Between the uphill sections, the trail features flowing descents that allow for recovery and momentum. The terrain is described as a balance of runnable paths and engaging elevation changes. This event is organized with support from the Fredericksburg Area Running Club.

The top three male and female finishers receive gift certificates from RiverRock Outfitters. Registration for the event closes shortly before the race begins on the day of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
