The Frozen Goat is a trail race at Monte Sano State Park, 5105 Nolen Ave SE, Huntsville, AL. It is Race #3 of the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series and is capped at 400 runners. Distances offered:

- 15K
- 4 Mile
The event is part of a three-race winter series held in late December and January. Registration closes January 13. The race uses age groups 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. There are no refunds, deferrals, credits or transfers. The race is a cupless event - runners must carry a hand held bottle, pack or reusable cup. A reusable cup is available for purchase at checkout for $5.
Course, support and logistics
Courses include several bluff views, creek crossings and waterfalls. Aid stations are provided on course with water, Gatorade, soda, GU, pretzels, M&M’s and granola bars. Aid station locations:
- 4 Mile: water at 2.4 miles
- 15K: aid at 5.3 and 7.4 miles
- 30K: aid at 5.3, 7.4, 10.6, 11.6 and 14.0 miles
Packet pickup is at the RunningLane store in Huntsville the day before the race, with an option to pick up on race morning. The 30K has a hard cutoff of 5 hours 30 minutes; the 4 Mile and 15K have very loose cutoffs. Marco’s Pizza is listed as a sponsor and will provide pizza at the finish area.
