Frosty Forest 5K

The Frosty Forest 5K is a trail event at Roosevelt Forest in Stratford, CT (700 Peters Lane) on December 19, 2026. The course is two 1.55 mile loops for a total of 3.1 miles (5K) and takes place on forest trails. Participants may run, jog, hike, or walk the course. Holiday costumes are permitted and a little trail experience is recommended.

Awards will be given to the top three female and top three male finishers. All participants who complete the course receive a custom finisher's medallion. The pavilion at Roosevelt Forest serves as the only aid station. Parking at the site is limited; larger vehicles should use the side lot and RVs are not allowed. Cookies and hot chocolate are provided by the event sponsor Athletic Brewing Company. A portion of proceeds benefits local organizations including the Roosevelt Forest Commission, the Veteran's Museum, and the Stratford Library. Organizers state that race registration is final with no refunds or deferrals and that CDC, state, and town requirements apply. Participants must be at least 18 years old or have a parental or guardian signed waiver. The event is part of the Roosevelt Forest Trail Races series. A 3 x 2 mile cross country relay at Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park, NY, marking the 47th running of the event. The program includes a youth division, a costume contest with prizes, post race refreshments and multiple age categories.

Looped hill races at Sunken Meadow State Park where the most distance in a three hour loop crowns the King and Queen, and a separate one hour event crowns the Prince and Princess.

A trail race at Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden, CT, built on a 25K loop with a 50K two-loop option. The course features technical singletrack, steep scrambles and an ascent to the Observation Tower.

A *5K* trail run/walk through Blydenburgh County Park on April 11, 2026 with in-person and virtual options, on-site refreshments and hydration, dog-friendly rules, and proceeds supporting Last Chance Animal Rescue.
