Frosty Forest 5K

The Frosty Forest 5K is an off-road event held in Roosevelt Forest, located in Stratford, Connecticut. This trail race takes place on a 5 km course (3.1 miles) through natural terrain, offering participants a route away from paved roads. The event is part of the Roosevelt Forest Trail Races series.

Participants may choose to run, jog, hike, or walk the distance. Due to the nature of the course, a small amount of trail experience is requested for those entering the event. The race has a restricted capacity, being limited to 25 participants by invitation only, creating a smaller field for runners to pursue personal performance goals.

The venue at 700 Peters Lane includes a pavilion which serves as the single aid station for the event. Amenities provided include holiday cookies and hot chocolate provided by sponsors. Parking is available on-site, though space is limited; larger vehicles are directed to a side lot, and recreational vehicles are not permitted.

Awards are presented to the top three female and top three male finishers. Every participant who completes the course receives a custom commemorative finisher medallion. A portion of the race proceeds is distributed to local organizations, including the Roosevelt Forest Commission, the Veteran's Museum, and the Stratford Library. All entrants must be at least 18 years old or provide a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
