Great Pumpkin Dash Trail 5K : Blydenburgh County Park

The Great Pumpkin Dash is a trail run and walk held on October 11, 2026 at Blydenburgh County Park in Smithtown, NY. The event features a 5K route on scenic, shaded trails and dirt roads with some hard-packed and sandy sections. The course is described as not overly technical and strollers and wagons are not permitted.

In-person and virtual participation options are available. The virtual option runs from October 11 through October 18 and includes a shirt and name on the bib. Bib mailing is available for an additional fee and requires registration at least ten days before the race to receive a mailed bib.

Amenities at the venue include park bathrooms within a few minutes walk of start and finish areas, informal bag check in the staging area, hydration at the finish, and refreshments provided by local vendors. Participants receive a Great Pumpkin Dash Trail tee. Age group recognition is awarded top finishers overall and across standard age brackets for male, female, and non-binary categories.

Primary parking is reached via the Veteran's Highway entrance and by using Picnic Areas 1 through 5; additional parking is available at the boat launch and near the dog park.
