Forbidden Forest 30 Hour Ultra Trail Run

This event is a 30 hour looped trail ultra held at Roosevelt Forest in Stratford, CT. The course is a 2.23 mile loop with roots, rocky terrain, and one larger hill nicknamed "OMG." The pavilion serves as the single aid station and is the start and end point of each loop, so runners pass aid roughly every 2.23 miles.

Multiple distance options are listed, including:

  • 26.2M
  • 50K
  • 50M
  • 100K
  • 100 Miles

A finisher buckle is awarded for completing 45 loops within 30 hours, and a buckle is also awarded when a runner reaches 100 miles. Overall race winners are determined by the greatest distance covered in the 30 hour period; first through third places are awarded in male and female categories.

Field size is limited to 50 participants. Registration is final; there are no refunds, bib transfers, or deferrals. Entrants must be at least 18 years old or have a parental or guardian signed waiver. CDC, state, and town requirements are applied.

Race support includes continuous hydration and food at the pavilion with items such as sandwiches, pizza options, and non-alcoholic beer from a sponsor. Pacer rules require registration, a wristband, fees for set durations, and only one pacer on course at a time; unauthorized pacers will result in disqualification.

Parking is limited; larger vehicles are directed to a side lot and overnight camping is not allowed by town ordinance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
