Forbidden Forest 30 Hour Ultra Run

Stratford, United States • 3 Oct 2026

Event overview

The Forbidden Forest 30-Hour Ultra Trail Run is a timed trail event held at Roosevelt Forest in Stratford, CT. The event uses a 2.23-mile loop and runs for 30 hours. Distances offered include:

  • 26.2M
  • 50K
  • 50M
  • 100K
  • 100 Miles

Runners complete multiple loops; completing 45 loops within the 30-hour period corresponds to the 100-mile mark and earns a finisher buckle (no extra charge). Race winners are determined by the greatest distance covered in the 30 hours, not by who first reaches 100 miles.

Course, support, and rules

The loop includes roots, rocky terrain, and one larger hill called "OMG." The pavilion serves as the single aid station and is the start and end point of each loop, so runners pass aid roughly every 2.23 miles. The event provides hydration, a range of food options including sandwiches and pizza, non-alcoholic beer from a sponsor, and race swag; runners with specific dietary needs are advised to bring their own fuel. Race shirts are available for purchase with limited quantities on race day.

Field size is limited to 50 participants. Registration is final with no refunds, transfers, or deferrals. Participants must be at least 18 years old or have a signed parental or guardian waiver. Pacers are allowed under rules: only one pacer at a time, paid shifts ($50 for 12 hours, $25 for 6 hours), must register and check in for a pacer wristband, and unauthorized pacers lead to disqualification. Parking is limited, larger vehicles are directed to a side lot, and overnight camping is not allowed per town ordinance. Entry fees support event production and local charities.
