Fresh Tracks 5K

The Fresh Tracks event is a snowshoe race held at Camp Richardson in South Lake Tahoe. The course uses a machine groomed track that passes through forested terrain and mountain meadows. The route is mostly flat with some short, moderate climbs.

The event benefits Metavivor, an organization focused on metastatic breast cancer. Entry options include early pre-registration pricing and race-day pricing, with a youth/cross country entry at a reduced fee. Entry fees cover swag, post-race refreshments, and continued day-use of the groomed Camp Richardson trails.

Race day registration is available at the venue on the morning of the event within a specified registration window. A familiarization walk is provided for people who want to try snowshoeing without competing. There are approximately 30 pairs of demo snowshoes available for use during the race; participants are advised to reserve early since availability is not guaranteed.

Age divisions are organized by decade and include categories from 12 and under up through 80-89 and older. Awards are given three deep in each division. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
