Course and on-course services

The courses are described as relatively fast and flat and follow a scenic out-and-back route mainly along paved trails through the valley and along the Truckee River. Wildlife that may be seen includes bald eagles, mule deer, and trout in the river. Multiple aid stations are provided on course with water, electrolyte drinks, and a variety of fruit and snacks. Medical staff are listed as part of event services. Awards are given for age group places and overall finishers.

Registration, fees, and included items

Online registration is available through 6/12/2026. Packet pickup and on-site registration occur the day before and on race day; Saturday locations include the Big Blue Adventure Tent/Events Plaza, and Friday locations are noted as TBA. Early registration prices by 12/31 are: Half Marathon adult $90, 8 Miler adult $70, 5K adult $50. Prices increase at later deadlines and are highest for on-site registration if not sold out. Discounts are noted for clubs and teams, challenged athletes (30% discount), and military (20% discount); military ID is required at packet pickup. Entry includes an event T-shirt, snacks, a free digital photo, a finisher medal, beer for participants 21 and older, and post-race support.
