Fox Valley Winter Challenge Trail Series 8K

Race number two of the Fox Valley Winter Challenge Trail Series takes place on February 21, 2026, at Oakhurst Forest Preserve in Aurora, Illinois. The event is an 8K trail race that begins with a steep climb up a sledding hill and continues through open paths and wooded sections.

The course uses multiple surfaces, including grass, gravel, dirt, and pavement. February conditions may include snow, ice, or mud, and runners should plan for variable footing. There are no water stations on course; bottles of water and snacks will be available at the finish area.

The start and finish are located in the parking lot by the covered shelter. Parking at the preserve is limited and free; overflow parking is available across 5th Avenue at St. Athanadios Greek Orthodox Church and entrants are asked not to enter the church. A bathroom structure is near the start and finish and additional restrooms are in the adjacent parking lot.

Packet pickup date and time are being finalized. Someone else may pick up a packet using the bib pickup email with its QR code. There is no gear check; items may be left in the covered shelter at the owner s risk. Headphones are allowed on course. Dogs are not permitted during the races.
