The Fox Valley Winter Challenge Trail Series 8K takes place on February 21, 2026 at Oakhurst Forest Preserve in Aurora, Illinois (1680 5th Ave, Aurora, IL 60504). The 8K is the middle race in a three-race winter trail series that also includes the 5K and 10K. Entry for the 8K is listed at $40; available spots and pricing may change, with a stated price increase after December 31, 2025. A multi-race bundle offers a $5 discount per event and can include two or three races.

Course and awards

The course at Oakhurst Forest Preserve begins with a steep sledding-hill climb, followed by rolling and twisting trails through woods and open paths. Race conditions may include snow, ice, mud, or combinations of these surfaces. All finishers receive a custom medal and premium cold-weather swag.
