Earth Day 50k/15 Mile/5 Mile
The event takes place April 17, 2027 in Crystal Lake, IL and is organized by Ornery Mule Racing. Races use Veterans Acres park and the main parking lot and pavilion are listed as race facilities.

The course is a 5 mile loop that runs on single track with rolling hills. All races start together in the ball field and run around the pond to allow runners to spread out before entering single track. There is one major aid station located at the start/finish area offering homemade items and typical ultra food such as cookies, peanut butter and jelly, sports drink, soda, chips, and pretzels. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water bottle as the organizers work toward a landfill free event. The overall time limit to complete the race is eight hours.
Packet pickup is available the Friday before the event at the Ornery Mule Racing Trailhead/Headquarters at 824 S. Main Street, Crystal Lake, and on race day at the pavilion near the main parking lot. Awards include 1st overall male and female plus age group awards for men and women in these groups: under 29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus.
