Soul Crusher is a trail running event held in Crystal Lake, Illinois, using single-track trails through Veteran Acres and Sternes Woods. The event offers two distances:
- 10 mile
- 5 mile
The course is organized as a roughly 5 mile loop that may include additional bonus mileage on some sections. The start line is located in the middle of the park; participants should allow about a 30 minute walk from the main parking area to reach the start and follow flags along the paths to the start and course. The race is cupless; participants are required to carry a water bottle or hydration vest. There is a 3 hour 30 minute cutoff for finishing.
Packet pickup is scheduled for a Friday evening at Ornery Mule Trailhead, 824 S. Main Street #102, and on race morning at Veteran Acres. Main parking is at 431 Walkup Rd, Crystal Lake, IL 60012. Registration closes on Wed, Oct 14 at 11:59 PM CT. Organizers send a pre-race email to registered runners on 10/16/2025 with important event information. Runner photos are posted on a photography website.
