Casual Hikers 10K Walk/Run

Casual Hikers stages a 10K walk/run on August 1, 2026, at the Nordic Skiing and Hiking Trails in the Kettle Moraine State Forest - Southern Unit near Whitewater, Wisconsin. The course follows a combination of the Blue and Green trails in the Nordic Trail System, totaling 10.2 km (6.3 mi), and the route is laid out clockwise beginning and ending at the Nordic trailhead parking lot.

Registration opens on February 1 and closes on July 4. Entry fees are listed at $40 through July 3 and $50 from July 4 to race day. Registration includes access to on-course water refill stations and trail-friendly snacks before and after the walk/run. The event operates as a cup-less event, so participants must bring personal bottles or hydration packs.

Organizers will manage check-in at a tent in the Nordic Trail parking lot, where race packets, park day-passes purchased through registration, and refreshments will be distributed. Park rangers may check vehicle stickers; registered participants who purchase a discounted day-pass will receive a sticker at check-in to place on their dashboard.

Twenty five percent of collected donations will be sent to The Salvation Army. Half-sleeve Dri-FIT shirts in polo or round-neck styles are offered for purchase at $10 each. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
