Emmy's Rustic Run

Emmy's Rustic Run is an annual trail run and family fun day organized by Emmy's family in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. The event supports research into ataxia-telangiectasia; all proceeds are donated to the A-T Children's Project to fund research for life-improving therapies and a cure. The 10th annual edition is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026.

The event combines a trail race with on-site family activities and merchandise sales. There is a virtual participation option for people who want to take part from elsewhere. Nonrunners can attend the event activities; pancake breakfast is available for attendees with a suggested $5 donation to cover the meal. Walk-up registration is available though t-shirt availability may be limited; an early packet pick-up is offered the day before at N580 Poeppel Rd, Fort Atkinson, WI. Dogs are asked to remain at home.

Distances and race formats announced by the organizer include:

  • 5k trail run on a wooded course
  • 1 mile walk course
  • Kids races in two heats for ages 0-4 and 5-8
  • Virtual participation option

Past editions have raised funds for A-T research; a recent year reported $107,000 raised for the A-T Children's Project. Event materials note sponsor support and a community focus on funding research and bringing hope for a cure. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
