Course and logistics

All courses run on mostly rolling trails through forested kettle depressions and include a stretch along a bluff-top waterfront trail with views toward the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Trail surfaces are described as somewhat smoother than typical for the region. The 5-km and 10-km courses are single clockwise loops in the western part of the park; the Half Marathon goes further east; the Marathon is the Half Marathon loop run twice.

Approximate elevation gain by distance: 5-km about 660 feet; 10-km about 1,320 feet; Half Marathon about 2,800 feet; Marathon about 5,550 feet. Aid stations: none on the 5-km; one on the 10-km; two on the Half Marathon; five on the Marathon. Aid stations provide water, electrolyte drink, and assorted carbohydrate or salty foods.

Parking requires a Discover Pass; a one-day pass is available at park pay stations. The Mukilteo/Clinton ferry is a common approach for those coming from the south; the ferry ride is approximately 20 minutes and the drive from Clinton to the park is about 50 minutes. Dogs are not allowed on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
