Folsom Lake Point to Point Trail Half Marathon
This event is a point to point trail half marathon held on the Southside Trail of Folsom Lake State Recreation Area. The course is listed as 95% single track and 5% dirt road, running alongside Folsom Lake through oak trees, grasslands and foothill terrain with views toward the Sierra Mountains. Total ascent for the course is 1,683 ft and the distance finishes at Brown’s Ravine / Hobie Point in Folsom.
The course is marked with pink ribbons tied to clothespins, orange cones, posted signs on short stakes, and gypsum (white powder) on the ground. Yellow ribbons mark the turn up into the New York Creek aid station. Runners wear red-numbered bibs on a white background. Drop bags can be left at the start and will be transported to the finish or aid stations.
Aid and toilet facilities are available at the start and finish and at several stops along the route including Old Salmon Falls (approx. mile 3.6), New York Creek (approx. mile 7.4), and Planeta Way (approx. mile 11, toilet nearby). The event has a 4.5 hour time limit. Transportation assistance back to the start is provided by race staff for runners who need a ride after finishing, and family or friends may pick up runners at Brown’s Ravine.
Registration fees are listed as $100 for advance online entries and $110 for in person registration. Active military and first responders receive a 15% discount. Entry fees are nonrefundable but may be transferred to a future TCTRuns event if the organizer is contacted at least 24 hours before the scheduled event. Volunteers who help at aid stations receive a free future race. Technical shirts are offered during registration subject to supply and available sizes.
