Flagstaff Doggie Dash & BuffaLoops Ultra

The event takes place at Buffalo Park in Flagstaff, AZ and combines fixed-time ultrarunning with a community 5k that welcomes dogs. Fixed-time races have participants complete as many 2-mile loops as possible within the allotted time. Runners in the loop races change direction every two hours and must complete each full lap to have it counted.

Race formats include:

  • 12-hour fixed-time event on a 2-mile loop
  • 6-hour fixed-time event on a 2-mile loop
  • 3-hour fixed-time event on a 2-mile loop
  • 5k Doggie Dash run with or without a dog
  • Virtual Doggie Dash 5k run remotely with mailed bib and stickers
  • Kids 1K free fun run, no registration required

Aid is provided near the park entrance with water, electrolyte mix, and snacks, plus basic items such as sunscreen and first aid. A designated drop bag area is available and participants may request a tent or canopy for their drop bag area. Race swag includes professional photo downloads for all participants, merch items for fixed-time runners, and dog bandanas for 5k entries while supplies last. A portion of registration fees supports the High Country Humane Society and virtual race proceeds are donated. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers in each race distance, and a raffle is held for entrants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
