Bear Jaw Events revived this trail race and renamed it Groovin' in the Aspens. The event is held at the Fort Valley Trailhead and features multiple distance options on trails through aspens and pines near Flagstaff.

The 6K follows smooth, easy green trails around the event expo area and is relatively flat. The 10K mixes single track and jeep road with 682 feet of elevation gain. The 20K is mostly single track with a few jeep roads and about 900 feet of elevation gain. The 30K is one Black loop plus one Blue loop. The 50K is two Black loops plus one Blue loop.

Aid stations will be placed no more than 7 miles apart. Early packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, September 11 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Kickstand Kafe, 719 N. Humphreys, Flagstaff, AZ; packet pickup is also available on race day before 8:00 AM. Race day registration is available at Fort Valley Trailhead and payment methods include cash, check, and credit card.

Registered participants receive a custom finisher's medal, a custom event t-shirt, and pre- and post-race snacks. Race items will not be mailed to those who do not attend. Wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons are welcome, though some trail sections may be difficult to maneuver. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
