Event details
Flagstaff Extreme Big Pine Trail Runs take place at Fort Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff, AZ on Saturday, June 20, 2026. The event offers the following distances:
- 50K
- 27K
- 13K
- 6K
Entry fees vary by distance and registration date. Race timing uses a chip system and results are posted with gun time. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers at each distance. Camping is available as an add-on in a festival-style tent area near the course; vehicle parking is in a nearby lot, not next to tents. Volunteer opportunities are available with race credits and event items offered as perks.
Course and logistics
All distances loop through Fort Tuthill using the Soldiers Trail and Highlands Trail Loop; the 6K uses a partial Soldiers Trail loop. Trails range from narrow single track to wide, maintained forest paths and run through ponderosa pines above 7,000 ft, with sections that top out on a mesa. The 50K route includes outbound segments to Rogers Lake via Gold Digger and Two Spot Trails and returns to the start/finish area before a final loop. Aid stations are provided on course (50K: every about 4.1 to 6.5 miles; 27K/13K: every about 4.0 to 4.4 miles) with water, electrolyte drink, snacks, and fruit. Pacers are allowed only on the final loop of the 50K. Courses are marked with orange ribbons with black polka dots and colored signs; blue and white checkerboard flagging indicates wrong-way trails.
