Flagstaff Extreme Big Pine Trail Runs

Flagstaff, United States • 20 Jun 2026

Event overview

The Flagstaff Extreme Big Pine Trail Runs take place Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Fort Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff, AZ (2446 Fort Tuthill Loop). The event offers four distances:

  • 50K
  • 27K
  • 13K
  • 6K

All races use trail loops through Fort Tuthill, with the 27K run as two full 13K loops, the 13K as one full loop, and the 6K on a partial Soldiers Trail loop. The course runs through ponderosa pine forest above 7,000 feet and includes single track and wider forest paths, plus a mesa section with mountain views.

Course and race logistics

Aid stations are placed along the courses and supply water, an electrolyte drink (Gnarly Fuel-2O), sweet and salty snacks, and fruit. Aid spacing is listed as every 4.1 to 6.5 miles on the 50K and every 4.0 to 4.4 miles on the 27K and 13K. Chip timing is used and results are displayed at the finish area. Pacers are allowed only for the final loop of the 50K; crews are allowed at the start/finish area only. Drop bags may be left at the start/finish and are available to runners on each loop. Courses are marked with orange plastic ribbons with black polka dots, laminated junction signs, and blue-and-white checkerboard flagging for wrong-way trails. Parking and the finish area are at the North Parking Lot near the Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
