Flagstaff Extreme Big Pine Trail Runs - Fort Tuthill County Park
The Flagstaff Extreme Big Pine Trail Runs take place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Fort Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff, Arizona. The event offers multiple trail distances that start and finish at the North Parking Lot near the Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course.
- 50K
- 27K
- 13K
- 6K (partial Soldiers Trail loop)
The courses use the Soldiers Trail and Highlands Trail Loop and run through ponderosa pine forest above 7,000 feet. Trail surfaces range from narrow single track to wider forest paths and include sections that top out on a mesa with expansive mountain views. The 27K is two full loops, the 13K is one loop, and the 6K follows a partial Soldiers Trail loop.
Aid stations are spaced roughly every 4 to 7 miles depending on distance and provide water, an electrolyte drink, sweet and salty snacks, and fruit. Runners are advised to plan for heat and elevation and to carry at least one bottle of water. The event uses chip timing with results displayed at the finish and posts gun-time results. Medical staff will be based at the start/finish headquarters.
Course markings include orange plastic ribbons, laminated signs at junctions, and blue and white checkerboard flagging to mark wrong-way trails. A tent-only group campground near the start/finish is available with water and portable restrooms; parking is located at the start/finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
