Course and race logistics

All distances use looped trail routes through ponderosa pine forest above 7,000 feet, including the Soldiers Trail and Highlands Trail Loop; the 6K uses a partial Soldiers Trail loop. The trail surface varies from narrow single track to wider forest paths. Aid stations are placed roughly every 4.0 to 7.3 miles depending on the distance and offer water, an electrolyte drink, snacks, and fruit. Pacers are allowed only for the final loop of the 50K. Crews and drop bags are allowed at the start/finish area and are available to runners on each loop. There is an overall race cutoff that limits total time on course to ten hours. Course junctions are marked with ribbons, signs, and flagging. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
