Five Rivers Ultra

Five Rivers Ultra is a point to point ultramarathon in East Anglia organised by Coastal Trail Runners, finishing in Harwich. The event offers three distances with generous cut offs and self navigated GPX routes.

  • 100 miles (32 hour cut off)
  • 50 miles (24 hour cut off)
  • 50 km (9 hour cut off)

The route runs along the North Essex and South Suffolk coastline and links sections of established waymarked long distance footpaths, including parts of the King Charles III England Coast Path. The full 100 mile course circumnavigates five coastal estuaries and passes through the Dedham Vale and Suffolk Coast and Heaths Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. More than 85% of the route is on grass or dirt trail and conditions underfoot are typically good.

Support features include indoor checkpoints with tea, coffee and hot food, drop bag facility, tracking via Open Tracking, and GPX downloads for all distances. Finishers receive a tech t shirt and a unique memento. Additional options for 100 mile entrants include optional hostel beds for Friday night with breakfast and optional buses from the finish to the start. The event is held under Trail Running Association and England Athletics licences and is a UTMB 100M index event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
