Bury St Edmunds, United Kingdom • 19 Sep 2026

The Lucky Horseshoe

The Lucky Horseshoe is a multi-distance trail event held at the Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX. The organiser offers a selection of fixed distances and a seven-hour cut off for the event.

The course is an out and back layout. The marathon is a full out and back loop and the shorter distances have turnaround points. The route uses the Gallops Route and Golding Hills and, for distances beyond the half marathon, the route reaches Newmarket where participants may see race horses in training. Aid stations with drinks and light snacks are placed approximately every 10k.

Race headquarters and base camp are located at the start and lap point and include an on-site water and aid station. Parking is included in the entry price. The event operates a cupless policy so participants should bring their own bottles or cups for refilling.

A bespoke finisher medal is provided for the event. A lucky dip finisher option is available for some distances; this supplies a medal chosen from previous or finisher medals. Entrants must be at least 18 years old. Maximum field size is 300 and entries close on 18/09/2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
