Event

The Lucky Horseshoe is a Zig Zag Running event on 19 September 2026 at the Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX. Entrants must be at least 18 years old. The event has a seven-hour cut off and a maximum of 300 entrants. Organiser ticket prices range from about £27 to £38 depending on distance and medal option.

Course and facilities

The routes are mainly out-and-back and are listed as undulating trail. The marathon is one full out-and-back loop; other distances use turnaround points. The event uses the Gallops Route for longer distances and Golding Hills for the 5k and 10k. Sections run through to Newmarket and the Gallops. Aid stations with drinks and nibbles are provided approximately every 10 km. Race HQ / base camp and an on-site water/aid station are located at the start and lap point. Parking is included in the entry price. The event operates a cupless policy so runners should bring their own bottles or cups for refilling.

Medals and transfers
