The Lucky Horseshoe

The Lucky Horseshoe is a running event on 19 September 2026 at the Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX. The event offers multiple distance options and uses an out and back layout that creates frequent contact between runners.

Distances available:

• 5k
• 10k
• Half marathon
• Full marathon
• Ultra marathon

The marathon is organised as one full loop (out and back); the other distances use turnaround points. All routes use the Gallops Route; Ultra entrants run the full out and back marathon course and then continue to the 5k or 10k turn. Routes longer than a half marathon pass through to Newmarket and the Gallops, where racehorses may be seen in training.

Aid stations supplying drinks and small food items are provided approximately every 10k. Race headquarters and base camp are located at the start and lap point and will host a water and aid station. Parking is included in the entry price. A bespoke finisher medal is offered to finishers; a lucky dip finisher medal option may be available as an alternative.
