Feeling Loopy Trail Race
The race takes place on a family-owned working cattle farm near Thomaston, Georgia, between Macon and Columbus. Participants run laps on a marked 4.37 mile loop that begins and ends in a large open pasture with space for free parking and crew set-up. Porta-potties sit next to the first trail segment, about 400 feet from the start/finish area.
Most of the course runs through pastures on a five-foot path cut through the grass, marked with guide ropes and arrows. The loop also includes about 1.8 miles of forest single track with twists, turns, roots, and rocks. Organizers extended parts of the trails to add variety and more shaded sections. The loop has roughly 385 feet of elevation gain per circuit and includes runnable hills and flat sections. Wildlife that may be seen includes cows, deer, rabbits, armadillos, turtles, and turkeys.
This is a cupless event; participants should bring a handheld water bottle or a hydration pack. Water refills are available near the start/finish and mid-course. Race food is provided for those in the four-hour and eight-hour races. Awards include a medal for the first male and female finisher in each race. A short-sleeve participation shirt is provided to runners who register by August 23, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
