Dark and Dirty Night Race

Dark and Dirty Night Race is the fifth running of a night trail half marathon held on private property in Griffin, Georgia. The event uses natural trails and is run after dark, so a headlamp or other light source is required.

The half marathon distance is 13.5 miles and includes about 2000 feet of climbing. The course does not use out n backs or loops and includes sustained climbs and varied trail terrain. All participants must carry some form of hydration and any calories needed to finish a run expected to last more than two hours.

There is an unmanned aid station that participants pass twice, at approximately mile 6 and mile 8.5, offering a few snacks, water, and an electrolyte. This is a cupless race. The race has a completion cutoff of 4.5 hours.

Event items provided include a short sleeve t shirt and a finisher award for every participant. After the race there will be a bonfire on site where attendees can gather and have a beverage. The race also serves as a preview run for the Lone Wolf 135 course; athletes already registered for the Lone Wolf 135 may enter this race at no additional cost.
