Falcon 50 - Colorado Springs, April 25 2026
The Falcon 50 Race Series is held on the United States Air Force Academy reservation and in the surrounding mountains near Colorado Springs. The event offers multiple race options on primarily dirt trails with some sections where runners may use a sectioned off portion of paved road or the dirt road shoulder.
Distances:
- 50 Miler
- Marathon
- Military Heavy
- Half Marathon
- Military Half-Heavy
All events start from Stillman Field and the course runs counter clockwise. The 50 mile course is completed by covering the marathon route twice. The half marathon and Military Half-Heavy follow an out-and-back on the first 6.55 miles of the marathon route. Aid stations are located approximately every 4 to 5 miles and are stocked with water, Gatorade, snacks, and possibly additional supplies.
Military-style entries may carry a ruck. Rucks may contain gear, food, or water and should include at least 35 pounds of non-consumable weight. Participants will be weighed in advance. For safety, all runners must finish before official sunset and a cutoff schedule will be provided prior to the race. Runners who meet cutoff requirements may attempt longer distances, but event specific finisher awards are given only to those registered for that event.
The race is organized as a non-profit by USAFA cadets. This year the event is open to DoD ID cardholders. Online registration closes April 18 and no race day registration will be offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
