Falcon 50 - Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs, United States • 25 Apr 2026
Falcon 50 : Colorado Springs, USAF Academy
The Falcon 50 Race Series is held on the United States Air Force Academy reservation and nearby mountains. The event offers multiple race options that use primarily dirt trails with some sections on paved roads or on dirt road shoulders. The course for all events starts at Stillman Field and runs counter clockwise.
Aid stations are placed roughly every 4 to 5 miles and are stocked with water, Gatorade, snacks, and potentially additional items. Runners must finish before official sunset; a cutoff schedule will be provided to participants before the race. The 50 mile course is completed two times as part of the ultramarathon. The half marathon and Military Half-Heavy follow an out-and-back on the first 6.55 miles of the marathon route rather than a loop.
This year's event is open to DoD ID cardholders. Online registration closes April 18 at 11:59 PM Mountain Time. Registration fees increase by $10 on April 1, and registering before April 1 guarantees a shirt. No late or race day registration will be offered. The Falcon 50 Race Series is a non-profit organized by USAFA cadets and is not part of the Department of Defense or any of its components.
