Courses and logistics

The 55 mile course starts and finishes at Buffalo Lodge and loops around Rampart Reservoir and Rampart Range Road. Key stats for the 55 mile distance include 53.9 miles and 6,964 feet total elevation gain, with a maximum elevation near 9,499 feet. The 60K is a point-to-point course that begins at Glen Aspen Boy Scout Camp, follows forest road and single track around the reservoir, and finishes at Buffalo Lodge; its listed distance is about 38 miles with a maximum elevation near 9,498 feet. The 50K is an out-and-back that starts and finishes at Buffalo Lodge and climbs over the Rampart Range. The 24K and 15K both start and finish at Buffalo Lodge with turnaround points on Rampart Range Road.

Parking at Buffalo Lodge is limited on race day. A shuttle is provided for 60K runners between Buffalo Lodge and Glen Aspen Boy Scout Camp. Drop bags are available at the finish for all runners; 55 mile runners have a designated drop bag location at Rainbow Gulch.

Support and awards

Aid stations are placed along each course. Pacers are allowed for the final segment of the 55 mile race; no pacers are allowed for the 60K, 50K, 24K, or 15K. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers at each distance, and all finishers receive a finisher award.
