Evenstar Ultras, Bentonville VA

Evenstar Ultras is a timed trail running event at Shenandoah River State Park on Allen's Mountain. Participants choose a race duration and complete as many loops of a 3.48-mile course as they can within that time. The loop returns frequently to the main aid station, reducing the need to carry extensive gear.

Available race durations include:

  • 24 hours
  • 12 hours
  • 6 hours
  • 3 hours

The 3.48-mile loop has approximately 670 feet of elevation gain and is primarily single-track. The trail includes technical sections with rocks and roots and may include two creek crossings. Runners repeat the loop as many times as possible during their chosen race window.

Entry includes race access and a fully supported course, a hoodie, access to the main aid station with water, electrolyte drinks, sodas, coffee, snacks, and cooked warm food during the event. A finisher award is given to anyone who completes at least one loop. Awards are presented to the top three women and men in each time category, and a special award is available for those who complete 100 miles.

Participants in the 12 and 24 hour events are required to wear a headlamp or waist light after dark; spare batteries and backup lights are recommended. The event is Trail Sisters Approved and has a pregnancy and postpartum deferment or refund policy. Registration closes October 5 at 11:59 PM ET. Volunteers receive race day swag and discounted future entries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
