Dead of Summer 6K

Jeffersonton, United States • 8 Aug 2026

The Dead of Summer 6K is the fifth annual cross country race presented by Death Ridge Brewery and Verdun Adventure Bound. The course begins and ends at Death Ridge Brewery and follows a large portion of the Verdun Adventure Bound cross country course. The route passes through a neighbor's property where emu and zebra may be visible.

The course is approximately 6K and uses a mix of surfaces: close cut grass, a short section of rough trail, and several kilometers of well groomed trail in Verdun. Runners move in and out of the woods, alongside two ponds, and over a few bridged streams. The course includes some hills and is described as naturally flowing.

Registration opens on April 6. Fees are $30 for pre-registration through July 11 and $35 on race day. A race T shirt is included for those who pre-register by June 30; sizes will be collected and extra shirts may be available after the cut-off but are not guaranteed.

Awards include overall male and female top three places, and age group awards for male and female divisions in these categories: 13 and under, 14-18, 19-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 70 plus. First prize is a one year membership at Death Ridge Brewery valued at $125. All race proceeds support Verdun Adventure Bound, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a 67 acre retreat facility.
