Eugene Curnow Trail Marathon

Duluth, United States • 12 Jul 2025

The Eugene Curnow Trail Marathon is a challenging 26.2-mile point-to-point race held in northern Minnesota, running from the Lake Superior Zoo in Duluth to the Munger Trailhead in Carlton. The course features rugged woodland trails with significant elevation changes, including nearly 3,000 feet of ascent and over 2,500 feet of descent. It covers half of the Minnesota Voyageur Trail Ultramarathon route plus extra distance to complete the marathon length.

Known for scenic views of Duluth, Lake Superior, and the Swinging Bridge over the St. Louis River, the race offers a tough but rewarding trail running experience. Established in 1992 and renamed in 2013 to honor founder Eugene Curnow, it has become a popular event in the regional trail running community.
