Event overview
The Escape from Folsom Trail Runs take place at Granite Beach, Folsom Lake State Recreation Area on Saturday, February 7, 2026. The event offers two distances: 10 miles and 5K (3.1 miles). Every finisher in both races receives a custom finisher medal. Soft-cotton race shirts are available for pre-race purchase for $20. Listening devices such as MP3 players and headphones are allowed; runners are required to exercise caution when crossing roads and on trails.
Course and on-course services
Both courses run on scenic trails along Folsom Lake and include multiple aid stations. Aid stations are located at miles 1, 2.5, 3.5, 5, 7.5, and 9 and provide cold water, FLUID Electrolyte beverage, CLIF Shot energy gels, and Bloks. Packet pickup is available race morning at the venue.
Awards, entry fees, and policies
Overall Champion Awards are given to first-place male and female finishers in each race. Awards are also presented three-deep in each ten-year age group for both the 10 Miler and the 5K. Entry fees vary by date: the 5K is listed at $40 until 11/1, then $50, and $55 on race day; the 10 mile is listed at $50 until 11/1, then $55, and $60 on race day. TBF Racing maintains a no-refund policy; refunds requested prior to race week are issued as a race credit minus a $25 processing fee. Transfers between TBF events are allowed within one year for a $25 fee and are not permitted during race week. All events are held rain or shine.
