Epney Trail Run
The Epney Trail Run is a small-scale, community trail race in the village of Epney, Gloucestershire. The route is approximately 10 miles (16 km) with around 70 m of elevation gain and starts and finishes near The Anchor Inn.
The course is a clearly marked circular route that follows the Gloucester to Sharpness Canal towpath and local public footpaths, including sections of the Severn Way. Terrain is predominantly flat and off road, with a mix of towpath and trail surfaces. Underfoot conditions may vary with weather and can include uneven or muddy sections. A GPX file of the route will be provided in advance.
The route will be marshalled at key points and there will be one aid station roughly halfway. First aid provision will be in place; however participants are responsible for their own safety and should be prepared for the conditions on the day. The route remains open to members of the public and participants must show consideration to other path users and follow instructions from the organiser and marshals.
Event administration notes that the minimum age to enter is 17 on the day, the event will be licensed by the Trail Running Association and held in accordance with UK Athletics rules, and at least £3 from every entry supports the Canal & River Trust. Additional event rules and kit requirements will be provided prior to the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
