Ed Poling Memorial HARC Hike for Hunger & Hope
This is the 14th year for this fundraising hiking event. It consists of two separate hiking days on different dates and routes. Registration is open.
The Canal Hikes take place on May 30 on the C&O Canal Towpath in Williamsport, Maryland.
- Distances: 5K (3 miles) and 10K (6.5 miles)
- The event concludes at Zion Lutheran Church in Williamsport, Maryland, where there is a post-hike lunch and celebration.
- Participants have access to snack and drink stops along the way. There is a nature scavenger hunt.
- Check-in for all participants is at Zion Lutheran Church. Shuttle service is provided for 10K participants to their start point at Dam Number 5.
The Challenge Hike takes place on May 16 on the Appalachian Trail in Maryland.
- Distances: 20-mile and 10-mile options.
- This is a one-way hike on mountainous terrain. Participants meet at Pen Mar Park and are shuttled to the start point.
- The event includes support along the trail with a light breakfast, a hearty lunch, and water, Gatorade, and snack refills.
A virtual participation option is also available, where participants can hike any date and route of their choice leading up to the event.
Proceeds benefit HARC programs, including Micah's Backpack, which provides weekend meals to children, and the Refugee Welcome Network. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
