Eastnor Castle Mud Bath

The Eastnor Castle Mud Bath is an off-road running event located in the Eastnor Castle Deer Park within the Malvern Hills. The course utilizes the terrain of the Land Rover test centre, featuring more than 60 miles of trails, woodland, and man-made trenches. Participants navigate natural obstacles such as fallen trees, gullies, and maintained mud pits designed to remain muddy throughout the year.

The event features three distinct distances:

  • 3 km Mini Mud Bath (minimum age 4)
  • 6 km (minimum age 10)
  • 10 km (minimum age 14)

The routes are comprehensively marked with distance signs and supported by marshals. While the course starts at the top of a hill and descends, runners will encounter various undulations along the way. For younger participants in the 3 km and 6 km categories, specific age-based adult accompaniment rules apply. There are no strict cut-off times, and the event accommodates those who choose to run, jog, or walk.

Facilities at the site include a bag drop, changing tents, on-site toilets, and professional photography services. A single drinks station is provided on the 10 km route, while all participants have access to a post-race buffet featuring fruit, sweets, and snacks, including vegan and gluten-free options. High-quality finishers' medals are awarded to those completing the 6 km and 10 km distances. On-site camping is available for those wishing to stay over the weekend.

The event is not suitable for buggies or canicross runners. Parking is available on-site for a fee, and the nearest train station is located in Ledbury, approximately 4 miles away. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
