Eagleton Trail Challenge
A set of trail events in the Eagleton trail system and Sproul State Forest near Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. Courses use singletrack and interconnected trails that range from short technical loops to a long, remote ultramarathon.
Distances
- Eagleton 86 : 86 miles, 16,007 ft gain
- Eagleton 47K : 47K, ~4,000 ft gain
- Eagleton 25K Run or Ruck : 25K, ~2,200 ft gain
- Eagleton 10K Run or Ruck : 10K, ~1,200 ft gain
The Eagleton 86 follows the Chuck Keiper Trail and Eagleton Fields across remote, rocky singletrack with technical footing and repeated climbs above 2,000 feet. Night running is expected and the course uses a firm 28 hour cutoff. Aid spacing includes long stretches between stations; drop bag locations and two crew/pacer access points are provided. Pacers and crews are allowed only at Fish Dam Overlook (AS5) and Ridge Road (AS7), with a one vehicle per runner limit. Drop bag locations include Shoemaker (AS3 and AS9), Fish Dam Overlook (AS5), and Ridge Road (AS7).
The 47K course is mostly runnable with technical sections in the first and last 5 kilometers, approximately 4,000 feet of climbing and a 10 hour time limit. The 25K and 10K routes pack significant elevation into shorter distances; the 25K offers a ruck option with specific weight rules and rucksack-only equipment restrictions. Parking will be at Peddie Park with shuttle service to the Sons campground; the campground parking is restricted to staff and authorized personnel. Registration closes Apr 30 at 11:59 PM ET. A post race meal is provided at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
