Eagleton Trail Challenge

The Eagleton Trail Challenge is a multi-distance trail event near Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, held on the Chuck Keiper Trail and through Eagleton Fields within Sproul State Forest. The event offers several timed course options on technical singletrack with varied elevation and remote footing.

The Eagleton 86 covers 86 miles with 15,653 feet of recorded elevation gain and loss, sustained climbs, and rocky, rooty trail surfaces. Night running is required and the course has a 28 hour cutoff. Pacers are allowed only at Ridge Rd, crews are not allowed, and drop bags are available at Shoemaker and Ridge Rd.

The 47K follows a loop with about 4,000 feet of ascent, six aid stations, mostly runnable middle sections, and technical first and last 5 kilometers. Its time limit is 10 hours.

The 25K Run and Ruck share the same route with roughly 2,200 feet of climbing and three aid stations. Ruck entrants must meet specific weight standards: 20 pounds dry for participants 150 pounds or more and 10 pounds dry for those under 150. Weighted vests are not permitted.

The 10K packs about 1,200 feet of climb into a short route with one aid station and a 7 hour limit. Organizers provide a substantial post-race meal and the event is presented by the Eastern States Trail-Endurance Alliance. Registration closes April 30. A four mile winter trail race through RB Winter State Park in Mifflinburg, PA, with a pavilion offering hot soups and post-race refreshments; finishers receive wine or grape juice.

A trail 10 km at Zindel Park in McElhattan, PA, covering about 6.6 miles with 1,400 feet of climbing. The route follows local singletrack and service roads with parking at Restless Oaks and shuttle access to the course.
