Eagleton Trail Challenge
The Eagleton Trail Challenge is a multi-distance trail event scheduled for May 15–16, 2027 in Lock Haven, PA, organized by the Eastern States Trail-Endurance Alliance (ESTEA). Courses run on single-track and dirt trails and include a mix of runnable sections and technical footing.
Distances and key facts:
- 47K : 29.7 miles, ~4,000 ft gain, 6 aid stations, 10 hour limit
- 25K Run or Ruck : ~14.6 miles, ~2,200 ft gain, 3 aid stations
- 10K Run or Ruck : ~5.6 miles, ~1,200 ft gain, 1 aid station, 7 hour limit
The longer courses follow interconnected trails within the Eagleton trail system. The first and last 5 kilometers of the 47K and 25K courses are noted as the most technical, while middle sections are largely smooth and runnable. Surface is trail/dirt throughout.
Ruck events require a weighted rucksack only. Weight standards specify 20 pounds dry for participants at or over 150 pounds body weight and 10 pounds dry for participants under 150 pounds. Allowed weights include steel plates, bricks, sandbags, or similar items; food and water must be removed before weigh-in. Weighted vests are not permitted.
