Eagleton Trail Challenge
The Eagleton Trail Challenge is a multi-distance trail event in Lock Haven, PA, held May 15 and 16, 2027 and organized by the Eastern States Trail-Endurance Alliance (ESTEA). The event uses single-track and dirt trails within the Eagleton trail system and lists course maps on HelloDrifter. The main staging area is at 44 Sons Rd, Lock Haven.
The Eagleton 47K follows a scenic loop through interconnected trails. Participants run alongside Route 120, climb the S.A.W. Trail to the Eastern Trailhead, traverse western trailheads, and return through the Eagleton Demonstration Forest Trail. The first and last 5 kilometers contain the most technical footing while the middle section is largely runnable. Practical details: distance 47K (about 29.7 miles), trail surface, approximately 4,000 ft total elevation gain, six aid stations, and a 10 hour time limit.
The Eagleton 25K Run and Ruck share a similar route on a shorter course. The first and last 5 kilometers are the most technical and the middle miles are fast and runnable. Practical details: distance 25K (about 14.6 miles), trail surface, approximately 2,200 ft elevation gain, three aid stations. Ruck rules specify walking or hiking with a weighted rucksack; required dry weight is 20 lbs for participants at or over 150 lbs and 10 lbs for participants under 150 lbs. Allowed weights include steel plates, bricks, or sandbags. Weighted vests are not permitted.
The Eagleton 10K is described as a "mountain 10K" with significant climbing and varied footing. Practical details: distance 10K (about 5.6 miles), trail surface, approximately 1,200 ft elevation gain, one aid station, and a 7 hour time limit.
