Eagleton Trail Challenge
The Eagleton Trail Challenge is a trail running and rucking event taking place in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, on May 9-10, 2026. It features multiple distances, from a 10K to an 86-mile ultramarathon, run on trails through Sproul State Forest.
The event offers several race options:
- Eagleton 86: An 86-mile ultramarathon with 16,007 ft of elevation gain. It is described as a graduate-level, early-season race on technical, rocky singletrack with long distances between aid stations.
- 47K: A 29.7-mile trail race with an estimated 4,000 ft of elevation gain.
- 25K Run or Ruck: A 14.6-mile trail event with an estimated 2,200 ft of elevation gain. The ruck division requires participants to carry a weighted rucksack.
- 10K Run or Ruck: A 5.6-mile trail event with an estimated 1,200 ft of elevation gain.
The Eagleton 86 ultramarathon has specific qualification requirements. All entrants must have completed at least one official 50K trail race within a specified time period prior to registration. The course includes long stretches without crew access, though pacers and drop bags are permitted at designated points.
