Course and logistics

The course follows a marked circular route on waymarked paths with tape and arrows for the full distance and marshals at aid stations. The route is described in places as 10.8 miles and elsewhere as an 11 mile loop due to a diversion. Surfaces include woodland, mud, field edges, gravel track and some short road sections. The route passes a ford at Elkesley with an option to cross at the bridge or through the stream, and runners must take care at road crossings.

There will be drink stations at roughly 3, 5 and 8 miles plus a drinks point in the start area; tea and coffee are provided at the finish. First aid medics will be on course and a small first aid kit will be available at each aid station. Toilets are available at the race headquarters only. Parking at the hall and a nearby farmyard is limited. Runners are advised to be self-sufficient on trail sections and crews are not permitted at aid stations.
