Ditmars Wine Run 5k at Ditmars Orchard & Vineyard

This event is a 5k chip timed run and walk held at Ditmars Orchard & Vineyard in Council Bluffs, IA. Registration includes a super soft ring spun cotton T shirt, a shatterproof collapsible portable wine glass, a finisher medal, a race bib, results posted online, and a pour of wine. Packet pick up is available on race day morning only.

The course starts and finishes at the winery and is laid out as a two lap cross country style route. The surface includes areas of uneven footing and the course is described as suitable for both walkers and runners. The event uses chip timing and posts results online.

The local charity partner is the American Cancer Society Relay for Life division. Age group awards are offered for the top three finishers in each category. Age categories are 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80 and over. Competitive runners must start with the first group to be eligible for an age group award and winners must start with the first wave to qualify. Age group awards are available for pickup beginning one hour after the first wave and are available only on event day. Minors may participate with a discounted registration that includes shirt medal and bib but not the wine glass or a pour of wine. A timed trail event at Chalco Hills Recreation Area with 3, 6, and 12 hour options. The course is a roughly 3 mile single track loop with two aid stations and a 250 runner cap.

A cross country 5K listed at Mount Michael Benedictine High School in Elkhorn with a referenced Boys Town Campus location. Morning registration is available for a $5 fee and overall awards are given to the top three men and women.

A midsummer trail event at Crescent Hill at Hitchcock on July 18, 2026 offering a 3.1 mile trail run and a 2.2 mile nature hike through the Loess Hills with costume awards and eco friendly medals.

An untimed adventure run in the Loess Hills at Glenwood Lake Park on September 5, 2026, featuring switchback trails, wooded sections, creek crossings and natural obstacles. Finishers receive a "Conqueror of the Loess" medallion.
