Red Top Roaster Trail Run
The Red Top Roaster Trail Run takes place at Red Top Mountain State Park in Cartersville, Georgia. This event is part of the "Off The Grid" Trail Run Series and features a course that utilizes multiple park trails, including the Sweet Gum Trail, Homestead Trail, Campground Trail, Iron Hill Trail, and Visitor Center Loop Trail.
Participants can choose between two distances:
- 8.85 miles
- 3.1 miles
The terrain consists of a mix of rolling hills and double track paths. The running surface features minimal roots and rocks. Both courses start in an open field behind the Red Top Mountain State Park Lodge to provide adequate spacing before entering the wooded sections. For the 3.1 mile distance, there are two water stations located at the 0.65 and 1.85 mile marks. The 8.85 mile distance includes five water stations distributed at miles 0.65, 1.85, 3.30, 6.45, and 7.65.
The event is limited to 325 participants due to trail capacity and local parking availability. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in various age categories, ranging from 14 and under to 80 and over, as well as Masters, Grandmasters, and Senior Grandmasters divisions.
