The course is a roughly one mile crushed gravel loop with a grass shoulder. The surface is soft and free of rocks and roots. In wet conditions there may be wet areas to navigate. There are no lights along the path, so participants should plan for low light at times. Wearing gaiters is recommended.
One aid station will supply drinks, cold and hot food, cookies, candy, and later in the day pizza, soup, and grilled cheese sandwiches; some vegetarian items will be included. There is ample parking and space for runners to set up chairs and self-support gear. Toilets and shaded areas are available near the path.
Lap counting uses RFI technology with manual backup and on-screen progress tracking. Packet pick-up is located at the park near the path. Registration deadlines affect eligibility for a race t-shirt, and the event does not allow refunds, transfers, rollovers, or deferments. Volunteers are requested for set-up, lap verification, aid station support, and clean-up. Completion awards are given to each 8 hour and 12 hour participant.
