Devil's Shadow Winter Trail Races: Mendon Ponds Park

Devil's Shadow is a winter trail race at Mendon Ponds Park in Honeoye Falls, NY, organized by FarFetched Enterprises. The event on February 6, 2027 uses Hopkins Point Lodge as race headquarters and parking is available in the surrounding area.

Races are held on an approximately 5.1 mile loop that starts and finishes at Hopkins Point Lodge and winds around Devil's Bathtub while avoiding larger hills and road crossings. The course may change due to trail or weather conditions.

Hopkins Lodge serves as the aid station and post-race gathering point. Aid station items include hot apple cider, Skratch hydration, cold drinks, Gu Energy gels in several flavors, salt potatoes, bone broth, and candy. Additional post-race items listed for later in the day include soup, salt bread, a selection of beer, and hot chocolate with a Skratch Recovery option. In 2027 the 5 mile race is rebranded as the Eat Ice Cream For Breakfast 5 miler and ice cream will be available after the race.

The event is the third race in the Common Ground Winter Trail Series, presented in collaboration with Goose Adventure Racing and Doody Runs. Event policy notes a single price with no increases and no fees for participant transfers, distance switching, deferrals, or refunds. Distance switching is allowed up to race-day check-in. Deferrals are allowed through January 30 and refunds through January 23 will return 100 percent of the registration fee but not UltraSignup fees.

The Race Director may disqualify participants for abusive behavior, littering or course tampering, receiving aid outside designated areas, pacing from non-participants, or course cutting. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
