Devil's Shadow Winter Trail Races is a winter trail running event on January 31, 2026, at Mendon Ponds Park in Honeoye Falls, NY. Course and logistics
The course is an approximately 5.1 mile loop that starts and finishes at Hopkins Point Lodge and loops around the Devil's Bathtub. The 25k consists of three loops and the 50k consists of six loops. Parking is available in the area surrounding the lodge. Headlamps are required when starting a new loop after dark. The race day course may change due to trail or weather conditions.
Aid, policies and series details
The lodge hosts the aid station and post-race food. Aid offerings include hot apple cider, Skratch hydration, water, Coke, GU energy gels, salt potatoes, bone broth, candy, soup, bread, beer, and hot chocolate. Registration uses a single price with no increase; there are no fees for participant transfers, distance switching, deferrals, or refunds. Refunds are available through January 23, 2026; deferrals through January 30, 2026. The Race Director may disqualify participants for unsporty actions such as abusive behavior, littering, receiving outside aid, or course-cutting.
