The Delamere Forest trail races take place on 2nd November 2025 at Delamere Forest Visitor Centre, Northwich CW8 2HZ. The event offers the following distances:

  • 21K
  • 42K

Minimum ages are 17 for the 21K and 18 for the 42K. The race is held under UK Athletics rules and the 42K contributes to the UTMB Index. There is a 7 hour cut-off for the marathon.

Course, logistics and kit

The courses run on undulating trails through Delamere Forest, including sections around Blakemere Moss, along the Sandstone Trail, and up Old Pale Hill. The marathon follows two laps of the half-marathon route. GPX files are available for both distances.

Parking is pay-and-display at the main Visitor Centre carpark and Whitefield Carpark; parking is first come, first served. Note there is a 1 mile walk from Whitefield Carpark to the race start. Bibs can be collected at registration in the event village if not received by post. One bag per participant may be left at bag drop; bag tags are provided with race bibs.

Mandatory kit includes a GPS watch or phone, at least 250 ml of water, hat and gloves, a hooded jacket and an emergency foil blanket. Recommended items include trail shoes, a hydration pack, a foldable cup, technical running clothing and a whistle. Entry includes chip-timed results, an event medal, official race photos and post-race goodies. The event lists Claire House Children’s Hospice as its charity partner.
