Croagh Patrick Uphill

Croagh Patrick Uphill is an uphill mountain race in County Mayo scheduled for Friday 12th June 2026. The event is part of the Irish Uphill League. Entry fees were €10 for seniors and €8 for over 65s and under 18s; €3 from each entry was added for donation to the local stakeholders group.
Entries are closed and the event is sold out. The course starts from the Lecanvy caravan park access road and follows marked lines up the open mountain. Runners follow sheep tracks, cross a small river, use an old gold mining track, and then ascend shale to the summit. The route is fully marked and GPS devices are not permitted. There are three course options: - Long Course: *3.6 km*, 720 m climb.
Age 18+ in 2026. - Short Course: *2.5 km*, 390 m climb. Age 14+ in 2026. - Kids Challenge: *0.7 km*, 110 m. Age 6+ in 2026; under 10s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Mandatory kit is Level B Standard and includes a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone with emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag.
All runners must carry the required items; random checks may be carried out and lack of required kit can lead to denial of entry or disqualification. Registration, prize giving and parking are at the caravan park at Lecanvy. Parking costs €5 per car in cash. Self sufficient camper vans may be able to stay overnight for €20 cash by arrangement at the caravan park.
IMRA has also reserved 20 camping pitches at a nearby caravan and camping park with showers and a campers kitchen; a 10pm quiet time applies there. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
